Welcome New PGY2 Residents

We would like to welcome our new first year residents who are happy to finally begin their careers in dermatology; Drs. Hollis Burrow, Julissa Jimenez, and Laura Beth Edwards. We have been excited to work with these excellent candidates with superb credentials thus far and believe they will contribute much to the residency program and the future of dermatology practice.

Burrow

Robert Hollis Burrow, MD 

Hollis was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors, earning a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Finance. He then returned to Jackson to attend medical school here at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed his internship. Outside of work, Dr. Burrow enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and other family and friends, whether it is eating good food, hosting a game/movie night, supporting the Rebels, or traveling to fun vacation spots. 

Edwards

Laura Beth Edwards, MD

Laura Beth was born and raised in Chelsea, Alabama and obtained her degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University, graduating summa cum laude and with honors distinction. She moved to Gainesville, Florida where she earned her doctorate in medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She subsequently completed her internship in medicine at University of Mississippi Medical Center. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Auburn Tigers, cooking, reading, playing with her dog, and spending time outdoors.

Jimenez

Julissa Jimenez, MD

Julissa was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Port au Prince, Haiti until moving back to the United States at the age of 15. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Miami and her doctorate in medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Florida in Pensacola and a pediatric dermatology clinical research fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, her son and her orange tabby cat.
